Algorithm
Our software uses advanced text processing algorithms to analyze 5000+ global news articles each day based on the following categories:
- How current is the event?
- Daily emails will cover events within the last couple of days
- How relevant is the event to a targeted K-12 course?
- Based on 50+ lesson topics monitored for each subject
- How captivating is the event?
- Keyword analysis will identify articles with rare content
- Does the event correspond to any additional tracked topic areas?
- Examples of areas tracked: significant event trends (i.e. CRISPR in Biology) and work being done by historically undeserved communities (i.e. research from HBCUs)
- What feedback is being received?
- The algorithm will be tuned based on feedback from teachers and the team
Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Large language models (LLMs) will be extensively integrated into our software. LLMs will be used to generate summaries of varying lengths and reading levels for each article featured in daily email and video communications. AI technology will also be used for translation purposes. Daily email and video content will be translated into different languages, allowing for global distribution of our services.
Exponential Technology
Teacher Touchpoints utilizes exponential technology, meaning that our team can send educational materials to a few teachers in a school district to tens of thousands of teachers within the U.S. to hundreds of thousands of teachers globally for little cost difference. We can also quickly grow our services to cover additional subjects and/or grade levels while remaining cost-effective. Unlike other student news approaches, specialized software serves as the foundation of our services, so our efforts won’t be spent on time-consuming endeavors such as researching and writing articles from scratch one at a time.
